I just love farmers markets! The fresh products that just came of the land and home made treats 🙂 YUM my mouth is already watering just thinking about it haha.
Last year I went to a farmers market in Christchurch, New Zealand with my friend Tara and there where so many little fudge stands it was unbelievable.
As Tara and I where wandering around the market we where just having fudge tastings for at least 10 min at each stand :p but at some point it hit me! Why pay a lot of money for some pieces of fudge while I can make it myself?! I mean how hard could it be?
So after some research and thinking what kind of taste I wanted I came up with this AMAZING After Dinner Fudge!
Do you know the After 8 chocolates? Yum! As a kid i could eat a whole box under 30min by myself (as you maybe already know by now i have a bit of a chocolate addiction ;))
Ok back to the point… This dark and white chocolate fudge with a subtle peppermint taste is gorgeous with a espresso after dinner.
What do you need
400g condensed milk
300g dark chocolate
300g white chocolate
Pinch of salt
Green food colouring
Step 2. When everything is melted down taste if the fudge has enough salt (add some more if needed). Add a few small drops of green food coloring until you have a pretty minty color.
Step 3. Add drops of peppermint essence and stir well together and keep on tasting until you have a nice chocolate minty flavour.
Step 4. Line a deep baking tin with cling wrap and slowly spread the green fudge in the tin.
Step 5. I just wash the pan and then continue with the second layer of fudge.
Step 6. Repeat the same processes by adding the rest of the condensed milk, dark chocolate, butter and salt until melted down. Add peppermint essence.
Step 7. Pour dark chocolate fudge on top of the green fudge and set in the freezer for an hour.
Step 8. Cut in small cubes and set in frige until served.
There you have it! A pretty looking chocolate minty fudge. This is also a very nice food gift to give with the holidays 😀
